The Aldrich Care Box is a year-long traveling exhibition unbound to a physical space. A unique collaboration between The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum’s Curatorial and Education Departments, Director of Education Namulen Bayarsaihan and Senior Curator Amy Smith-Stewart, have commissioned five artists—Ilana Harris-Babou, Clarity Haynes, Athena LaTocha, Curtis Talwst Santiago, and James Allister Sprang—to create a series of objects that examine themes of care, grief, intimacy, and healing through a diverse range of materials, methods, and approaches.
Please Note:
By reserving one of five Care Boxes on loan from The Aldrich you agree that you will return the Box in the same condition on the return date you have reserved. Each Box contains commissioned art works by five artists, and we ask that you please handle with care and caution.
The loan duration is for one week starting on the Sunday pick up date you have reserved and the Care Box must be returned to The Aldrich by the following Sunday at 5pm. You will be charged a fee of $5 per day for any late returns that have not been approved by the Museum. Damage to a Care Box will incur a fee of up to $500.
At the time you pick up your Aldrich Care Box, a staff member will take down your credit card information entering it into a secure system, managed by Stripe, that will allow the Museum to charge any late, missing, or damaged box fees.
Pickup and drop off of the Box will be held at our Museum Front Desk and a member of our team will be in touch with you via email to confirm your reservation.
Safety and COVID-19 precautions: The Aldrich is following quarantine guidelines based the REopening Archives, Libraries, and Museums (REALM) project conducted by OCLC, the Institute of Museum and Library Services and consulting with The Ridgefield Library for best lending practices.
